WHERE I AM, AND HOW FAR I GO

Riverside Prints is a home shop on the Minnesota River between Mankato and Saint Peter, Minnesota. There's no storefront and no posted address — pickups happen by appointment, and I send directions once we've settled on a time.

Pickup is an easy trip from Mankato, North Mankato, Saint Peter, Eagle Lake, Madison Lake, Nicollet, Kasota, Le Sueur, Lake Crystal, and St. Clair — most of Blue Earth, Nicollet, and Le Sueur counties are a short drive. That's the neighborhood, though, not the limit: people have driven out from the Twin Cities, Rochester, and the southwest corner of the state, and they're welcome any time.

Nowhere near southern Minnesota? Doesn't matter for most of what I do. Custom prints, one-offs from the shelf, and my own designs all ship anywhere in the country at standard carrier rates — you never have to come out here at all. Filament is the one exception, and only because a 1 kg spool costs more to mail than it's worth to either of us.

Students and staff at Minnesota State Mankato and Gustavus Adolphus — you're close by, and small one-off prints are exactly the kind of job I like.

THE STORY, BRIEFLY

We live on several quiet acres along a bend of the Minnesota River — that's where the name comes from. The 3D printer started as a hobby and quietly became a shop: custom print orders, a filament rack that somehow keeps growing, and my own designs. I run it evenings around a full-time job, which is exactly why prices are fair — no storefront, no overhead, no investors to feed. Just a person, a good printer, and too many ideas. My wife would say far too many.
